Dream apartment

Story byLina Gozman
For an entire year, we searched for our dream apartment in British Columbia, Canada.
I had a very clear vision in my heart. I wanted a home with mountain views, a bright western exposure filled with evening sunlight, and a quieter northern side. I dreamed of an apartment with a real entrance hallway, where the kitchen would be separate from the living room instead of being one open space. And most importantly, I wanted a kitchen window with a view of the mountains.
We looked at so many apartments, but none of them felt right. Some were beautiful, some were practical, but none matched the picture I carried inside my mind. Deep down, though, I truly believed that this apartment existed somewhere.
After many months, we almost gave up. We were even ready to settle for something that did not fully match our dream. But somehow, thanks to our realtor, we never bought those apartments.
And then, one day, after an entire year of searching, our realtor called us and said:
“I found your dream apartment.”
It was on the 14th floor.
The moment I walked inside, I knew. It was exactly what I had imagined for so long. There was a separate entrance hallway, the bedrooms were private and away from the living room, and the kitchen was its own cozy space with a breakfast corner near the window. The apartment was filled with light, and from the kitchen windows, I could see the mountains.
That experience reminded me of something important:
When we truly know in our hearts what we want, when we can clearly see it and believe in it deeply, life has a mysterious way of bringing it to us.
